11th September 2009

The branch are meeting with Quarriers again today in what may turn out to be a crucial meeting.

Please watch this site for updates and details of any future meetings.

9th September 2009

A members’ meeting was held in advance of the next negotiation meeting.

28th August 2009

Quarriers issued a letter from the Executive. This letter does not represent UNISON's view on the talks nor is it an accurate reflection from our point of view.  This letter is misleading and innacurate.  The Branch are sending a letter asking the Chief Executive for a retraction.

 27th August 2009

Quarriers gave the UNISON team an update on their Proposals

UNISON responded by informing Quarriers that we will be consulting members to gather their views.

This was be done from Monday the 31st August until the 10th September. At the members meeting on Wednesday 29th July we displayed the full document Quarriers sent to us and members appreciated seeing exactly what was in it.

20th July 2009

The Branch Negotiating team met with Quarriers Executive at  9.30 a.m.

We gave a statement :  UNISON Quarriers Branch Statement to Quarriers Executive

We are continuing to negotiate openly with Quarriers to reach an agreed settlement on this proposal and will be keeping channels open at all times for further meetings.

 17th July 2009

Without any notice Quarriers formally notified us that they were entering in to a 90 day consultation period which could lead to the dismissal of all Quarriers employees with Quarriers offering to re-engage on substantially inferior contracts.

WE NEGOTIATE FOR EVERYONE AND WE WILL GET THE BEST SETTLEMENT POSSIBLE WHICH WILL PROTECT THE WORKERS BUT ALSO TRY TO SEE QUARRIERS THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
